JP Williams

BIO
When JP Williams moved to Nashville, he showed up with little more than his guitar and a few pieces of furniture. What he lacked in stuff, JP made up for in experience. He'd been singing and writing for half his life, so he already had an abundant song catalog and one heck of an artist resume that includes openers for Charlie Daniels, Ricky Skaggs, Randy Travis and Jo Dee Messina. He also brought some established industry connections he'd made during regular co-writing trips to Music City.

"I used to come every other week from Atlanta by way of tour bus...a tour bus I shared with 60 other people. Go Greyhound!"

JP's stint in Atlanta came after graduation from the University of Tennessee - Chattanooga, where he earned his music degree and a lot of stripes playing with a popular party band. ("We were famous in a three zip code area.") JP knew his path would ultimately lead to Nashville, yet post-college he headed east to gig for a living and hone his writing skills. While there, he landed a headliner spot for a college tour and spent a year trekking the Northeastern U.S. singing original tunes for students far and wide.

"After gigging on the road, I was ready to move to Nashville and focus on becoming a great songwriter."

Since then, JP's earned a category win in the International Songwriting Competition, been a featured artist at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., played in Ireland for Budget Travel Magazine and enjoyed every minute of what he calls 'songwriting school.'

Today-as a Major Bob writer, JP taps into his life experiences, a lifelong love of great music and all those years of performing to craft songs that cross genres with rich melodies, vivid stories and lots of soul.
