Alysa Vanderheym is a multi-genre songwriter and producer based in Nashville, TN. She was born and raised in Marin County, California and she started writing “songs” as early as elementary school when she discovered that a karaoke machine she had included a recording function. Her first instrument was drums - she started playing on Tupperware with chopsticks in her room and then she taught herself guitar from a Beatles chord book in middle school while she saved up for a drum set. She says, “I always remember being fascinated by commercial pop music - I grew up in the era of Max Martin, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, N’SYNC, etc. and at an early age I remember paying attention to song form and was fascinated by the word “studio.”
She relocated to Nashville in 2012 to earn her BA in Songwriting from Belmont University. Upon graduation, Vanderheym bought Pro Tools and started building her own demos, which caught the attention of Major Bob Music, where she signed in August of 2015. She has had recent cuts by Florida Georgia Line, Billy Currington, Danielle Bradbery, and Daniella Mason.
